This agent eliminates tissue (exo-erythrocytic) malarial infection, preventing the development of the erythrocytic forms of the parasite which are responsible for relapses in Plasmodium vivax and ovale malaria.?Primaquine?is active against late hepatic stages (hypnozoites, schizonts).
